"The moment our feet touched the ground, we fell in love with Spain again." - Bill Lalor

This is our second time in Spain and we came for the Solheim Cup golf tournament but it took no time at all for us to fall in love again.  There are some places you can travel to that are unique, have spectacular things to see or exciting things to do.  But only a few places have the power to keep wanting you to come back.  Spain is just such a place.  It has such a hold on us.  Whether it is the beauty of the landscape, the warm people, the wonderful food or a combination of all three...  we don't know.  All we know is that if we ever moved out of the USA, it would most likely be to Spain.  Let me show you why.

Our BnB

We stayed in the Costa del Sol area of Spain along the southern border.  When I booked this Bnb, the pictures looked great, the reviews were outstanding and it looked so inviting.  It was all of that and much, much more.

The view from our window.

The main house.  Our bungalow was across the pool from this.

Our hosts, Pieter and Margot were from Holland.  He is a retired caterer and she still works as a flight attendant for KLM.   His catering skills were on full display for breakfast where everything was homemade.  The bread, the jams, the sauces, the eggs.  Even the guacomole (which blew my mind).

The Spanish countryside is really beautiful.  With the miles and miles of olive groves, the white villages of small town Spain and the historical side of the country... they all take our breath away.

The city walls of Ronda

My newly repaired right hip is great.  But my still to be repaired left hip finally forced me to the cane.

And the food?  To die for!

I originally intended to write about the Solheim Cup tonight, but it's gotten pretty late and we have an early wake up in the morning so I'll save that for another posting.

Adios amigos!
